Roadmaster Class A Motorhomes Exact Center Steering Stabilizer Installation - 2018 Ford F-53- Video
Hey, guys, it's Jake here with etrailer. Today we have a 2018 Ford F-53 Motorhome chassis, and we're gonna be taking a look at and I'm gonna show you how to install the Roadmaster Exact Center Steering Stabilizer. When you have an RV, something of this size, when you hit little bumps in the road or a semi passes you on the road or just any truck or trailer of any size, the feeling that you get when you're driving 60 or 70 miles an hour down the road is very, very unnerving. What'll happen is you'll feel that suction and the wheels will want to, the whole RV is wanting to follow the suction from that truck when it passes. Adding the steering stabilizer is gonna take some of that away. It's not gonna take it all away because you look at the size of the rig we have, you can only imagine how big of a steering stabilizer we'd have to have to have no movement and at that point, you wouldn't be able to turn it at all because it would be fighting you too much. more

Roadmaster Front Anti-Sway Bar Installation - 2015 Thor ACE Motorhome- Video
Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer and today we're taking a look and installing the Roadmaster front sway bar on a 2015 Thor A.C.E. When it comes to upgrades for your RV, something that people don't necessarily think about that often until they've driven for a while is suspension and suspension enhancements and something with a large coach, something like this as you make a turn it feels top heavy and naturally it just wants to sway. Sometimes steering can be pretty numb feeling and that's not exactly a feeling you want while driving something this large. And especially when gusts of wind come and the vehicle sways side to side. Having that eliminated or close to eliminated is a great comforting feeling and a great way to do that is going to be upgrading your factory sway bar. Now this one is, looks to be almost about the same diameter as the factory one, but let me tell you as soon as you pick up this new one versus your old one you'll see the weight difference and that's really where it can hold up to the stress and weight of the RV. more

But before we get into all that, let's just take a couple of minutes, check this out, and make sure it works. Before we put our sway bar on, what we like to do is some before and after, that way we have something to kinda compare to, so right now we have all the factory components, on our motor home, and we'll run through our test course, do a couple things, and kinda get a feel for how it drives. And then once we have the sway bar installed, we'll do this again, and see if there's an improvement, and from my past experience, these usually work really well, and the difference or the improvement is really noticeable, so I don't see why it should be any different with this setup, but, with that said, why don't we hop in, and see how it does. So we'll first start by going over some bumps, and the big problem with these motor homes is that they're so top heavy. You get a ton of that body roll, you know, you feel it kinda going like this and it takes forever to come back and kinda flatten itself out. more

Before we get into that though, why don't we just take a couple of minutes, check this out, and make sure it actually works. Before we put our sway bar on, what we'd like to do is some before and after, you know. That way we have something to kind of compare to. So right now we have all the factory components on our motor home, and we'll run through our test course, do a couple things, and kind of get a feel for how it drives. more

Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer, and today I'm with Vern from Hellwig, and we have some sway bars here and I've put sway bars on my own personal vehicles for kind of more of a motor sport feel. And so something like this makes a world of difference. First turn, just everyday driving. But I've also installed larger ones. This is for an F53 RV chassis and you wouldn't expect an RV to make a huge difference with sway bars or think about performance, but they're top heavy. And the first thing you notice as soon as you put one of these on, just stabilize it. more

If you're looking for a more comfortable and controlled ride this summer, then check out the Roadmaster rear anti-sway bar kit that we installed on our 2021 Thor Hurricane motorhome. Now the Roadmaster anti-sway bar kit is gonna work in conjunction with your factory rear anti-sway, that you already have installed. You don't remove that, you just add that to it on the backside of the axle. This is going to help you reduce the back and forth motion from swaying and crosswinds or when you're passing trucks on the highway. If you've driven one of these motorhomes, a Class A like this, you know they're very susceptible to the left and right motion as you go down the road. more

Now, this is a custom fit part, it is designed to fit the 2017 to 2019 Ford F-550 Class A motorhomes over 24,000 pound gross vehicle weight rating, and also fits the 2017 to 2022 Ford F-53 Class A motorhomes, also over 24,000 gross vehicle weight rating. Now, basically, other steering stabilizers are reactive, they'll fight against unwanted movement, but only after the movement has already started. Now this is a custom fit part that is designed to fit your 2018 to 2022 RAM 4500 and 5500, and this anti-sway bar does for side to side movement what a good pair of shocks does for up and down motion.
